Life is Not Perfect...But It Can Be

life lessons perspective Oct 31, 2023

Lately, I've been coming to you from my car because life isn't perfect.

Ideally, I'd set up my tripod. I'd put my mic in. It would sound PERFECT!

But you know what? I'm at a job and this is the main time I can do this.

People say life isn't perfect, but it can be. You make those choices of perfection, even in the worst of situations. Because that is where you learn the most.

So you can decide that this very moment is perfect, whether it feels great or if it feels lousy. Because you go into that lesson that you're supposed to learn in life.

So give yourself that perfect moment.

Perfectly great that you can take a breath today.

Perfectly great because you are able to walk on both feet.

Whatever that is, decide – "this is my perfect moment! I can give it a different perspective."

Have an amazing day!

Professional Lip Syncer

I want to tell you about an inspirational moment I had this morning — about lip syncing!

Remember Milli Vanilli?

When I was growing up, there was a musical group called Milli Vanilli that got caught lip syncing music, instead of singing it themselves. While many saw this as a negative, I remember thinking...

"I don't have a good singing voice. Wouldn't it be cool to be a professional lip syncer?"

I love to dance, I love acting like I'm singing without making the sounds.

Girl You Know It's True

And guess what?

I realized that's exactly what I've become — I'm a sign language interpreter who loves to interpret music. I play the song and it's not my voice singing. But it's my hands moving and my body dancing and I am having the time of my life doing it!

Be Careful What You Ask For

So, like I always say, be careful what you ask for and what energy you put out into the universe.

For years, as a child, I always wanted to be a professional lip syncer, and NOW I AM.

Where are you going to put your energy today?

Let me know at [email protected].

I hope you have an amazing day!

Dealing with the Terrible "What Ifs"

Do you ever fall into the trap of thinking about terrible "what ifs"?

What if this doesn't work out?

What if I can't ever meet anybody?

What if something terrible happens?

What if I can't find the house that I love?

These thoughts consume us and take up so much energy.

The Flip Side

Here's a suggestion. Let's shift the perspective to a new set of empowering questions:

What if I was successful?

What if I found that perfect house?

What if this relationship did work out?

What if I was highly successful in everything that I would love?

It takes the same amount of time to go into the worry of "what ifs" of the tragic as you can go into the "what ifs" of success.

So today, really think about, What if life worked out exactly the way that I would love?

Give that thought energy.

As I often say, God gives us everything we want. God always says "yes," but it's what you have faith in, because that's what you focus on. So try shifting to the positive possibilities.

What if I was successful?

I hope you have an amazing day!

The Tip of the Iceberg

Today, I want to talk about the tip of the iceberg – what's hidden under the surface of our lives.

There are two perspectives we can consider when talking about the iceberg...

1. Understanding Others

First, when we look at other people, it's easy to feel jealous of what we superficially see on the outside. It might be their success, their relationships, or even their material possessions. But you never know what's going on inside. What you see is just the tip of the iceberg. We all have struggles that no one else can see, so please keep that in mind.

2. Recognizing Your Own Power

Second, our physical self is just the tip of an iceberg that we can see above the water. There is a vast greatness and beauty in the invisible. It is the source, spirit, God (whichever name you use) who works in amazing ways!

Remember, our physical is limited. We can tap into that resource of spirit and love and all of that invisible power that we can't see.

I want to encourage you to dive beneath the surface of the visible world. Tap into that invisible spirit. Let it know what you would love to achieve, and start chasing that dream.

Facing Resistance

goals law of resistance Oct 03, 2023

I am back! I’ve missed you and I’m looking forward to connecting with you again.

For the last year, I have been traveling with my son. I wanted to concentrate on the fun I was having and my time with him. I haven't been making videos or blogs. Nothing!

I made a commitment this weekend to start again. I presented at the Big Sky Retreat recently, and I realized that I have to get back out there.

But then I woke up, and I didn't want do it this morning. Because no makeup... I didn't do my hair as cutesy as I usually do.

Then, I listened to a spiritual talk and realized I'm being resistant. And the reason is FEAR of getting myself out there. There is that fear of rejection when I reach out to ask people to allow me to present.

I'm so excited to be back with you again. I've recognized my resistance and my fear so I can get my butt in gear and do what I'm called to do – which is to present these spiritual principles.

So today ask yourself: what are you resisting that's getting in the way of your goals?

You can share with a friend, journal about it, or send me a note about what you're facing. Recognize it so you can move past the resistance.

I hope you have a beautiful, wonderful, awesome day.

Peace and blessings,

Dr. Laura Cole

Cooking Thanksgiving Dinner Again

Uncategorized Nov 30, 2022

For the first time in 12 years, since my mother passed away, I cooked Thanksgiving dinner. Watch the video to learn more about how I was able to overcome morning the loss of my mom.

I know it's the week after Thanksgiving, but I have to share this with you.

My mom passed away in 2010. The day after Thanksgiving, and I have refused to make Thanksgiving dinner since then.

But this year, I am visiting North Carolina in my RV and staying with my brother and sister-in-law's  family. There are thirteen of us.

For the first time, my brother and I cooked Thanksgiving together. We made a HUGE spread and, it was incredible.

I am feeling so much gratitude.

What I have learned is you re-step into what feels comfortable when you're ready.

It's been 12 years, and I haven't been ready to celebrate this holiday. But I had the opportunity this year, and allowed myself to enjoy it again.

I'm so so very grateful.

(hopefully you can hear my nieces in the background jumping on the trampoline)

I hope you have an amazing day,

I'm so excited! I'm visiting Washington DC with my son here at Gallaudet University back again after 24 years. Watch the video to learn more.

I'm in front of dorm five where I live for two years. It's hard to believe I'm having this experience after so many years

I wanted to share this with you.

It is wonderful to be on campus again surrounded by deaf individuals. I can see people signing everywhere.

I'm SO HAPPY and the best part is I'm sharing it with my son.

Today is not about Spiritual inspiration, but about doing what you can to get to what you love that brings you joy.

I hope you are able to find something that brings you joy today.

With love,

Remembering During Dia de Los Muertos

Uncategorized Nov 28, 2022

Today, I'm talking to you today about Dia de Los Muertos. Watch the video to learn more.

I'm feeling just a little bit sad because this is the day of remembrance of those loved ones that have passed on before us.

I created an altar. It's good to remember those who have given us gifts, insight, and inspiration.

When you are remembering those that have transitioned before you, go into gratitude for what you've been taught and how you've been loved.

That's the reason you show up in the world today. Sometimes for good reasons and sometimes for bad reasons.

Just be grateful for those that came before you...no matter what they taught you.

You can see my alter if you click on the video above.

Being Fluid and Changing Plans

I'm currently in Maryland and staying with a friend just north of DC to explore the area. I recently learned that sometimes you just have to change your plans. Watch the video to learn more.

I don't think it's natural for people to be with each other 24 hours a day which is what my 13 year old son and I have been doing for almost 4 months. So we've decided to make a HUGE change of plans.

He is flying home to Houston for a couple weeks which frees me up to hang out with friends and my spiritual peeps. I'm super excited!

The lesson for today is that yes, we make plans, but we also get to be fluid. Life is plastic. If you open up to other possibilities and aren't so stringent about where you have to be, you get to experience so much more.

I now get to join a friend who's officiating a wedding. I'm also going to a workshop to study dragons. I get to learn something new, and it's exciting.

So when things are getting too stringent and they seem too tough, take a deep breath and see how you can possibly change your plans.

Thoreau and Ben & Jerryโ€™s Ice Cream

I had the honor to go visit Walden Pond outside of Concord, Massachusetts. This is where Thoreau stayed for 2 years, 2 months and 2 days to write his book Walden. This book is his life of contemplation of connecting to nature and showing the importance of truly who we are. Watch the video to learn more.

Today, I feel blessed. I got to walk the pond and meditate with the chipmunks and squirrels. It was absolutely fantastic! I also got to see his 10 x 15 square foot home.

So what do you want to contemplate today?

How can you cherish and love nature? What can you do for the Earth to show that you love it?

P.S.- I'm so excited because Noland and I just drove 2.5 hours just to go to the Ben and Jerry's factory tour. That's 5 hours of driving just for this 30 minute tour. But this place is amazing! I'm so excited to be here!
